easter

grandma and grandpa shafer hosted an epic easter party this year. with the grandkids getting older the holidays are getting really fun. they have the perfect backyard for a fantastic egg hunt.

lucy was our little easter bunny. 

in addition to treats and coins in the eggs there were also 'bunny bucks' which the kids exchanged for prizes at grandmas store. everyone was very very spoiled.

the big prize at the end were giant frogs! williams has now found a home in his bed which is seriously encroaching on his sleeping space, but he loves it.

 we love our family and are so glad we are all in california!

spring

spring begins in the bay area in february, it's glorious. we've had a busy spring so far, mainly getting together with lots of friends. first stop the bay area children's museum in sausalito with the tanners & daniels.

 at least lucy was excited to be there.

 it was spring break so william had to negotiate with some bigger kids.

another day we joined the shoemakers for our first visit to the california academy of sciences in golden gate park. it was amazing. william and max attempting to touch the starfish.

 they have a great collection of fish.

and we made visits to our favorite local indoor play place, u-me, with justin and claire.

besides being carted around to all of williams outings lucy's main activity is tummy time. she loves it.

a visit to the snow

another reason to love california is the easy access to both beach and mountains. one weekend we joined some good friends for a weekend skiing in lake tahoe. it had been a few years since i'd been on the slopes and after a shaky first run i got my legs under me and loved it.

 we took the kids to a patch of snow and william loved running in it. lucy not so much, she was cold.

lake tahoe is one my favorite spots for year round activities.
