this weekend consisted of lots of baking - cheesecake, blueberry bars, popovers and this delicious strawberry rhubarb pie. tasty. tasty. 

olympics

amazing. the opening ceremonies were amazing. these guys were definitely my favorite. and the sporting events haven't been half bad either.

vermont

a few weekends ago the cannons invited us to join them in sharon, vermont for a weekend of camping and small town enjoyment. we camped at camp joseph, ate tasty food via the dutch oven, visited the prophet joseph smiths birthplace (which has impeccable grounds), played bingo with the locals, shot bucks with orange rifles and loitered. a very pleasant time indeed.

happy july 3

the best way to celebrate the 4th of july with the boston pops is to go on the 3rd to their dress rehearsal. you get the whole show, minus the insane crowds and fireworks (which i hear you can't even see over the trees). so we went to the hatch shell, had a picnic, experienced a short downpour and enjoyed the music of the pops and rascal flats. happy july 3rd!

marathon

so i've been thinking about running a marathon. most likely won't happen (you expect me to devote all my saturdays for months to running?) but if i did manage to train wouldn't it be delightful to race in a foreign country? i vote for paris or rome...both in the spring and both places i've never been.

montana

last weekend we joined the entire forrest family for a mini vacation at flathead lake, montana. beautiful. and so much fun.

we stayed at the tanner treasure right on the wonderfully smooth lake and enjoyed wakeboarding, four-wheeling, waverunning, fishing, surfing (new to us - ben being the resident surfer was much better than i), being with family and eating, eating, eating.

1st Date

one year ago today was my first date with mr. forrest. sigh. what a good year it has been. for our date he took me to a blues concert on the water in sausalito

followed by a walk up the lyon street steps

and climbing to what became 'our spot' at the palace of fine arts

all while i had tendonitis. and i told him i wouldn't talk marriage until after dating for a year. i lied.

last thursday, jennifer, among 12,000 others ran the boston corporate challenge - can you see her??? (look for the green)
